Last year, with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung debuted Circle to Search. A feature that it built with Google, and actually launched on a Samsung phone first, before Google’s Pixels. Now, with the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is announcing that over 10 million users use Circle to Search each month, and 20% use it daily (or about 2 million). That’s pretty impressive, for a feature that was said to be a “gimmick” at launch.
Circle to Search really is Google Search on steroids, and it’s quite clear that many people love using this feature. Given the fact that over 10 million Samsung users use it at least once a month,
Circle to Search allows you to long-press on your home button and search things on the screen. Whether that’s a picture, a quote or something else. Which can all be done without jumping into other apps. That’s what makes this so impressive, and useful.
Circle to Search adds Sound Recognition, text and image search
Now, with Circle to Search, Samsung is announcing that it can now recognize sounds. This is somewhat similar to Google’s Now Playing that has been on Pixels (and Nexus devices) for many years. Essentially, long press on your home button and let it listen to the music, or you can hum the sound as well and Google can find it. This also works for sound in videos that are playing on your phone.
But that’s not all, Circle to Search now has enhanced search for text, images, and more. Allowing you to very quickly find things in videos, and so much more. Google and Samsung continue to make Circle to Search so much more useful. This is available on the Galaxy S25 series, and should come to the older models with One UI 7, which will also be launching this week.
