Despite the many rumors stating otherwise, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite does power the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra worldwide.

A big reason for this is that Qualcomm and Samsung worked together to customize the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the Galaxy S25 series. This is because of Galaxy AI, which also allows the Snapdragon 8 Elite to work tighter with the camera, and it also allows better efficiency and performance.

When benchmarking the Galaxy S25 series, we are noticing higher benchmark scores versus other Snapdragon 8 Elite devices like the OnePlus 13. This explains why that is the case. Not only is this Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy faster, but it is also more efficient. This is why Samsung decided it wasn’t necessary to up the battery capacity on any of the Galaxy S25 models. Because of the efficiency of the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is a huge deal, and the 40% larger vapor chamber in the Galaxy S25 Ultra this year. Which does make a very large difference.

Huge gains across the board

Samsung is also promising some pretty large gains across the board for the Galaxy S25 series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. We’re looking at 37% faster CPU, 30% faster GPU and 40% faster NPU. That NPU is pretty important, as that is what is going to provide you with a better AI experience. Speaking of AI, everything in Galaxy AI can be done on-device, and you can also set everything to only be done on-device, within the settings.

All three Galaxy S25 models do come with 12GB of RAM to start. The Galaxy S25 will start at $799, the Galaxy S25 Plus at $999, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra at $1,299. The base-model Galaxy S25 does still start at 128GB, while the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra start at 256GB. While the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers a 1TB storage model.
