Oppo is set to launch its new foldable phone soon, the Oppo Find N5. Thanks to a series of images shared on Weibo by Oppo executive Zhou Yibao, he has shared a sneak peek of the upcoming device and how thin it will be.
These images compare the thickness of the Find N5 against a bunch of objects. This includes a stack of coins, a stack of cards, and then against Apple’s iPhone. From what we can tell, the handset looks incredibly thin and should address one of the chief complaints of foldable phones.
Most foldable phones are thick when folded shut. This was one of the criticisms against the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Samsung later addressed this with an updated model, which, unfortunately, was not available globally. What’s interesting about these images is that we can expect them to apply to the upcoming OnePlus Open 2.
This is because the original OnePlus Open was based on the Oppo Find N3. The rumors claim that the OnePlus Open 2 is based on the Oppo Find N5, so we should expect a similar design. It remains to be seen exactly how thin the Find N5 will be officially. As it stands, the Honor Magic V3 is the world’s thinnest foldable at 4.35mm thick when opened up.
