Insta360’s wide array of mobile filming accessories are undoubtedly among the best that you can get, and the brand recently announced its new Flow 2 Pro, a motorized gimbal that combines nifty hardware with smarter software which now comes with – you guessed it – AI features.
Priced at around $160, the Flow 2 Pro works with both iOS and Android devices, although there’s the added benefit of compatibility with Apple DockKit for iPhone users, allowing them to use subject-tracking with the iPhone’s native camera app, support for Blackmagic features, and more. There’s also Deep Track 4.0, which is AI-based tracking technology that can be accessed via the Insta360 app.
Insta360 has also added Active Zoom Tracking, meaning that creators can now track far-away subjects with as much as 15x zoom, even with dynamic movement. For multiple subjects, there’s also real-time tracking for group shots, ensuring perfect framing when capturing scenes with more than one subject within. There’s also an integrated Pro Framing Grid which works via AI to incorporate the “Golden Ratio” into every shot.
Insta360 says that it’s also improved the Flow 2 Pro’s design and overall build, with support for Dolby Vision and Apple ProRes. For creators, there’s a built-in selfie mirror and teleprompter, and remote control capabilities using an Apple Watch or a secondary smartphone.
