TikTok restored its service in the US with the help of Donald Trump, hours after it was banned on Sunday. Since the TikTok app is still unavailable in app stores, Meta is making all sorts of efforts to attract TikTok creators to Instagram. The social media giant is reportedly offering hefty monthly bonuses to TikTok creators for posting their short-form videos on Instagram before any other platform.

Instagram is reportedly attracting TikTok creators with big monthly cash bonuses

Yesterday, The Information reported that Meta is offering monthly cash bonuses ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to TikTok creators. In exchange, all it needs is for them to publish their short-form videos first on Instagram as Reels.

This isn’t the first time Meta is shelling out cash to compete with TikTok. We’ve seen this in the past too. However, considering how the social media giant handled the previous bonus programs, it is safe to say this may not last long either. Not only is Instagram eyeing TikTok creators, but it is also attracting existing TikTok users to the platform.

Over the last few weeks, Instagram has introduced a slew of new features that are pretty much similar to TikTok. This includes the introduction of rectangular post grids on profile and increased time duration for Reels. Not to mention, the new Reels feed will also include a conversation starter option.

Instagram’s new video editing app is a direct rival to the CapCut app

Instagram also announced a new video editing app called Edits. Remember, Edits is a direct rival to the CapCut video editing app that went dark hours after the TikTok ban. However, it’s worth noting that the ByteDance-owned video editing app is reportedly working again in the US. All in all, Meta is doing pretty much everything to boost Instagram at this point in time.
