How Can I Become a True Software Expert Like the Geniuses We Admire?

I’ve always been inspired by stories of exceptional software engineers, tech entrepreneurs, prodigies in movies, and those real-life "kids who hack websites" or create groundbreaking ideas. These are the people who seem to know computers inside out—they can build software from scratch, understand cybersecurity, design their own programming languages, create servers, and so much more. Right now, I’m a software engineering student focusing on DSA (Data Structures and Algorithms) and web development, but I feel like I’m just scratching the surface. I want to go beyond the basics and become someone who truly understands every layer of technology, from low-level systems to high-level architecture. If you’ve walked this path, how did you get there? What skills, concepts, or projects should I focus on to bridge this gap and become an all-rounder who can build, hack, and innovate at that level? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
