My Journey from Student to Web Developer: Passion, Growth, and Future Goals
Hello, Dev.to community! I’m Cherinet Afewerk, and I’m thrilled to be sharing my journey with you. I am currently in my eighth semester of studying Computer Science at Dilla University, and I'm undergoing industrial training, where I get to apply my skills in real-world projects. How It All Began My interest in technology and coding started back in high school, and from there, I embarked on a journey of learning and growth. With a deep passion for problem-solving and innovation, I’ve always been intrigued by how software can bring solutions to life. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Computer Science, where I've built a solid foundation in various programming languages, including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, PHP, and MySQL. Specializing in Web Development During my studies, I discovered my true calling: web development. I've specialized in modern technologies like Next.js, React, and TypeScript. With these tools, I’ve built several projects that showcase my ability to create clean, efficient, and responsive websites. Whether it's a simple landing page or a full-stack application, I’ve always aimed to develop websites that not only look great but also function seamlessly. A Focus on AI and the Ethiopian Market In addition to my web development expertise, I’m also passionate about AI and its potential to revolutionize industries. I’m particularly interested in how AI can be applied to the Ethiopian coffee and teff market, where innovative solutions can help boost the global presence of these industries. Combining my knowledge of AI with web development, I’m working on creating smart solutions that can optimize supply chains, marketing, and customer interactions. Future Aspirations As I approach the end of my degree program, I’m eager to continue developing cutting-edge solutions in web development and AI. My goal is to leverage my skills to contribute to the growth of tech in Ethiopia and beyond. I also plan to work on gym management websites, which combines my love for tech and fitness. I’m excited to connect with fellow developers, share knowledge, and learn from this amazing community. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to engaging with you all!
