The HONOR Magic7 series initially launched at the very end of October last year, in China. It took HONOR a bit of time to deliver the global HONOR Magic7 Pro model, but we’re finally here.

The global HONOR Magic7 Pro model has been officially announced

The phone was announced today during the event in Bled, Slovenia. The company says the device “features cutting-edge AI capabilities that revolutionize photography, enhance display quality, and deliver exceptional hardware performance.”

It is worth noting that the Google Gemini app comes pre-installed on the device too. HONOR talked a lot about AI, as per usual. The company says that this phone offers a “truly personalized and intelligent interface that seamlessly integrates AI into everyday tasks.”

Magic Portal is one of the most interesting MagicOS9 features

Features such as the Magic Portal were mentioned. Magic Portal allows you to circle desired objects within the screen and then enable instant text and image comprehension and access to wanted app services. You can basically quickly circle something and then share it with a contact, while the phone will understand what you circled, basically.

AI Translation is also a part of the offering with the MagicOS 9 which comes pre-installed on the HONOR Magic7 Pro. The same goes for HONOR Notes too, and the AI Summary feature that is a part of it.

HONOR’s AI Image Engine also plays a huge role in the Magic7 Pro experience

HONOR also talked about the AI HONOR Image Engine. It’s essentially the company’s image processing engine, for photography. It’s supposed to process images that the camera hardware takes and provide compelling results.

The ‘AI Super Zoom’ feature is especially worth highlighting. It’s “designed for framing breathtaking sceneries with a remarkable focal length range of 30x to 100x, capturing crystal-clear images even from great distances”, says the company.

The phone supports 3D facial scanning

The phone itself is made out of metal and glass. It has a pill-shaped cutout on the front, for a reason. It’s a lot smaller than the one on the iPhones, though, There’s a selfie camera included there, and a sensor for 3D facial scanning too.

The phone has a quad micro-curved display. Its display is flat, but the glass on top of it is curved on all four sides. The glass on the back is proportional to that, by the way. Three cameras sit on the back of the device.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip fuels this smartphone, the company’s most powerful processor. Up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM is used here, as is UFS 4.0 flash storage.

The phone features a 6.8-inch 2800 x 1280 LTPO OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate. Dolby Vision is supported, and the peak brightness here is 5,000 nits, in theory. Android 15 comes pre-installed with MagicOS 9.

The battery capacity has been decreased compared to the Chinese model

There is one major difference in terms of battery life here, compared to the Chinese model. This handset comes with a 5,270mAh battery, while the model in China has a 5,850mAh battery. We’re not sure why that is, but both are silicon-carbon batteries. That’s quite a difference, unfortunately. 100W wired and 80W wireless charging is supported, as is reverse wireless and reverse wired charging. Do note that the charger is not included in the box, though.

An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner sits under the display, while the phone supports Bluetooth 5.4, and has stereo speakers. An audio jack is not included here, in case you were wondering.

A trio of compelling cameras sits on the back

A 50-megapixel main camera includes a 1/1.3-inch sensor size and f/1.4-f/2.0 variable aperture. OIS is also supported here, as is dual pixel PDAF. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (1/2.88-inch sensor, 122-degree FoV, f/2.0 aperture) sits on the back too. The third camera on the back is a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (1/1.4-inch sensor, f/2.6 aperture, 3x optical zoom, OIS, PDAF).

The HONOR Magic7 Pro is going on pre-order in the UK from January 15 (today), in Lunar Shadow Gray and Black colors. It’s priced at £1,099.99 unlocked, and available from a number of carriers. A limited time offer is also available there, with a free HONOR MagicPad 2. We’re not sure what the price will be in other markets.
